While others’ birthday wishes are either material gifts or exploring the world, this one old, tough lady prefers to celebrate her special day inside a prison.
A North Carolinian centenarian has finally crossed out one of her life’s bucket list. It was to celebrate her special day: getting locked up in jail.
In March this year, Ruth Bryant was “arrested” in her assisted living facility in Roxboro, North Carolina in the USA. The two deputies from the Person County Sheriff’s Office said she was charged with indecent exposure. The police warned her to not put up a fight then placed her in a patrol car.
During the arrest, the centenarian played her part and “resisted” her arrest by lightly kicking the front seat of the police car. “Don’t kick me, I got a bad knee,” said one deputy. Here she replied: “I got two bad knees.”
Mrs. Bryant was put into jail for three minutes and was given an orange prison suit with words “Person County Jail” on it. The police officers also gave the lady a round of hugs and a mugshot. “I’m in the jailhouse now! I finally got here!” she said.
Later, she was released from jail and was sent to her assisted living center to continue her celebration with her family and relatives and enjoy her favorite cake.
