There are a lot of controversial food and beverage pairings that we can find on the Internet. But the latest and viral beverage might be one of the most unusual.
A comedy writer James Felton even tweeted about his fondness for “Milk Coke” which is the viral beverage that we’re talking about. James had no idea that the internet would react so fiercely on his tweet.
James claimed that the unusual viral beverage combination (made by mixing Coke and milk together) is quite famous in Birmingham, England area.
Most people on the stateside had never heard of this beverage. It’s quite understandable that these people were mystified about it.
Some people equate it to a root beer float, while others argue that the two beverages are different from each.
Gizmodo looked at the viral beverage combination from a systematic standpoint back in 2015, giving this explanation:
“The Coke loses its phosphoric acid, which teams up with calcium atoms from the milk to make tricalcium phosphate and hydrogen.
The tricalcium phosphate precipitates out of the liquid and settles on the bottom. And nearly all of Coke’s color goes with it.”
This is the reason why the ‘Milk Coke’ looks like a milkshake. But how does it taste? Let’s look at the reactions of the people on Twitter.
