USA Basketball Won’t Get A Medal on FIBA World Cup

Surprisingly, there will be a new FIBA World Cup champion as Team USA basketball losses to France in the quarterfinals. More importantly, team USA will not get a medal on this basketball world cup.

France has beaten team USA with a score of 89-79 in Dongguan, China. Rudy Gobert, a player of Utah Jazz, led his country to victory with his 21 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 blocks which upsets the unstoppable team USA.

Moreover, this is the first for the USA to not get a medal in a major international competition since 2002. “Every defeat hurt,” Team USA head coach Gregg Popovich said.

“Especially the situation we are in right now, it even hurts more, but we must keep moving forward.”

“This tournament is important, and we would love win to all our games just like any team would want. Well, life must still go on”

The last time that the Americans lost to an international basketball game was in 2006. That’s the time when team USA loss to Greece in semifinals.

On the other hand, team France will face Argentina in the semifinals and Gobert is aiming higher than that.

“We don’t want to stay in the semifinal,” Gobert said. “What we wanted for our country is to bring home a gold medal for them.”

Even though the USA will not be the champion of the FIBA World Cup 2019, their team are still qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. They can still prove themselves in that international sports event. is
