Back in October 2018, a home in Alexandra, New Zealand lost their dog, Louie, the 12-year-old sheepdog.
His owners were worried about his whereabouts and whether he is injured or stuck somewhere.
Fortunately, he came back later that day. However, they noticed he looked so exhausted and as if he had just collapsed under a bush.
The owners said that they were concerned someone might have hurt him. What they didn’t know is that their dog has been busy helping other people to rescue his puppy.
As it turns out, a neighboring farmer named Rob lost his dog, Maddy, before he got into town that day.
When he came back, he found Louie and he led him to the spot where Maddy was trapped under a pile of branches.
When Louie returned home, the owners found a note attached to his collar. “Louie is the hero of the day,” it read. “He led me to Maddy in distress, stuck under a branch pile. Cheers, Rob.”
Afterward, they called Rob to get the full story. “Rob said he was 100 percent sure that Louie knew what he was doing and getting Rob to Maddy was his main goal”.
Once he found her, Louie helped Rob dig her out, pulling at branches, digging out the ground. He knew Louie would possibly get in trouble for coming home late, so he thought he would write a small note to explain his absence.
I’d say this superb boy deserves all the additional treats he needs.
