Last week, the new mega airport of China – Beijing Daxing International airport (PKX) is now operational and it’s located in the South of Beijing.
This is in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic.
Even though the existing Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) is already one of the busiest airports in the world, China is still expecting that the new airport will be busier.
Moreover, the new mega airport of China has already seen its first commercial flight took off last September 20, according to Chinese state media.
The Airbus A380, the world’s biggest airliner, is the first plane to take off to it.
The main reason why China has made this airport is because their current one is already full pack.
It would be impossible for them to add new flights with the status of their international gateway.
Because of that reason, the multi-billion Beijing Daxing International airport was constructed.
In fact, it was designed by the late, famous and award-winning architect Zaha Hadid and her Chinese.
Certainly, the People’s Republic is boasting that their new mega airport is built for the future.
It has four runways and an enormous terminal with a size of 97 soccer fields. They also claim that it will have a customer service robot that will assist the travelers.
Therefore, the Beijing Daxing Internation airport is expected to handle 45 million passengers annually by 2021, and 72 million by 2025.
They are also expecting to open 116 routes, including 101 domestic routes and 15 international routes, covering 112 destinations worldwide.
Moreover, the regulator is encouraging overseas airlines to operate in the new airport.
Congratulations China for your new mega airport and happy anniversary as well.
