There is a memo that is circulating on the Internet. The title of it is “I’m Not Returning to Google After Maternity Leave, and Here is Why”.
People are talking about this and supporting the employee who posts it. The note claims retribution and judgment to Google and the author of it is an employee who was pregnant.
The memo is circulating inside the company, and more than 10,000 employees read it.
The memo that the employee has posted urged employees to post memes defending her on an internal message board.
This is a verified and authentic note which was initially posted on an internal message board for expecting and new mothers then it was shared elsewhere.
However, the allegations made in the memo are not yet verified if it’s true.
You can see the whole memo on Vice with the names and identifying details. The employee of Google or the author of the memo doesn’t want to comment yet for this article.
In a report, a Google spokesperson said:
“We prohibit retaliation in the workplace and publicly share our very clear policy.
To make sure that no complaint raised goes unheard at Google, we give employees multiple channels to report concerns, including anonymously, and investigate all allegations of retaliation.”
Whether the allegations in the memo are true or not, it is not good to discriminate against people in the workplace just because they are pregnant or physically challenged.
