After months of speculations, Netflix has formally confirmed that Stranger Things 4 will definitely happen.
According to confirmed reports, Netflix has formally locked in showrunners The Duffer Brothers to multiple year contracts. Moreover, the contracts reportedly include both film and series projects for the widely popular show. Hence, we could, in theory, expect a Stranger Things film in the works in the next couple of years. However, don’t expect to watch Eleven, Joyce, and Hopper anytime soon. According to reports, Stranger Things 4 could be released as far as late 2021.
On September 30, an official video teaser was released to the public. Despite not revealing much, the teaser garnered millions of views and made a lot of fans excited. Subsequently, the teaser ended with a write up that says: We’re Not In Hawkins Anymore. Apparently, it would seem as if the world of Stranger Things would just get bigger and bigger. For fans who were able to see the Post-Credits Scene of the last episode of Season 3, you would have seen that an American prisoner is being locked in a cage, while Russian speaking soldiers talk. This could be a plot setting for the fourth season, and could very well pivot towards a bigger plot.
You may watch the teaser below.
Stranger Things 4 to get even stranger
Stranger Things took the world by storm in 2016. Set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana during the mid-’80s, the show featured a lot of iconic 80’s pop culture which caused vintage looks and items to trend again.
The show features a balanced cast of kids and veteran adult actors. Notably, its veteran actors include Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers) and David Harbour (Hopper). Likewise, Lord of the Rings’ Sean Astin played a crucial role in the series during its 2nd season.
However, the central players to Stranger Things are the teen actors. Millie Bobbie Brown stars as Eleven, a special child with supernatural powers who battles creatures from the Upside Down.
Stranger Things has become one of Netflix’s most popular shows. And fans simply can’t wait to continue binge-watching.
