Apparently, her movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe brought her straight to the top of the list. Additionally, her new signing to take on the stand-alone Black Widow movie added more Benjamins to her bankroll.
Scarlett Johansson reportedly earned $35 Million from this year’s (and all-time’s) highest-grossing film, Avengers Endgame. Notably, the blockbuster film raked in close to $3 billion throughout its theatrical run. In total, Johansson takes home a massive paycheck amounting to $56 Million from June 1, 2018, to June 1, 2019.
Scarlett Johansson leads the list
Joining ScarJo on the list of highest-paid actresses are the following:
- Scarlett Johansson ($56 Million)
- Sofia Vergara ($46.1 Million)
- Reese Witherspoon ($36 Million)
- Nicole Kidman ($34 Million)
- Jennifer Aniston ($28 Million)
- Kaley Cuoco ($25 Million)
- Elizabeth Moss ($24 Million)
- Margot Robbie ($23.5 Million)
- Charlize Theron ($23 Million); and
- Ellen Pompeo ($22 Million)
Notably, this is her second straight year to lead the list of highest-paid actresses. Apparently, in 2018, Johansson also topped the same list after earning close to $40 Million.
The top 10 actresses who earned the most this year have a combined $314.6 Million in earnings. Accordingly, the amount is 69% greater than the combined earnings from 2018.
However, gender pay disparity remains to be very much present in Hollywood. In comparison to the earnings of the top 10 highest-paid actors, what the actresses earn doesn’t even come close. Apparently, the top 10 actors combined to earn $588.3 Million during the same time. And despite topping the actresses’ list, Scarlett Johansson only ranks 8th in the combined list for actors and actresses. Compared to Dwayne Johnson’s $89 Million earnings as the highest-earning actor last year, ScarJo’s $56 Million doesn’t seem to figure as much.
