Musician Will.i.am says that a Qantas flight attendant was being “racist” towards him during a flight to Sydney.
The Black Eyed Peas band member and frontman tweeted that he was called out when he missed a plane announcement. The announcement was about putting away his laptop.
Qantas has issued a statement denying the allegation. A spokesperson said,
There was a misunderstanding on board, which seems to have been amplified by will.i.am wearing noise cancelling headphones and not being able to hear instructions from crew.
We’ll be following up with will.i.am and wish him well for the rest of the tour.
Will.i.am sharing his story on twitter with his 12.8 million followers, saying,
I’m currently on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney.
i ’m sorry to say me and my group have experienced they worse service due to a overly aggressive flight attendant…
I don’t want to believe she racist.
But she has clearly aimed all her frustrations only at the people of colour
The singer was met by the police at Sydney airport on Saturday, Australia after the plane landed.
And in other tweets, he added,
I was intimidated by 5 police when I landed…for what?

In his tweets, he named the flight attendant and shared her photo and an Australian federal police officer.
Another passenger who was on board backed up the star tweeting about that she couldn’t believe in the behavior of the flight attendant. Also, she added on her tweet apologizing on behalf of Australia.
Now, Will.i.am is still on tour in Australia.
