A heartbroken Chinese woman has made it known to his ex-boyfriend and to the entire compound how badly heartbroken she was when she sent 1,000 kilograms of onions to his house as an attempt to make him cry as much as she did after their relationship ended.
The incident happened in the province of Shandong in eastern China, when a woman with the surname Zhao, found out that his long-time boyfriend has been cheating on her for over a year already. However, the Chinese woman learned that her ex was not affected and even said she has always been overdramatic.
Furious at what she learned, Ms. Zhao requested a ton of onions to be delivered to his ex’s doorsteps, with the request of not contacting him when the delivery comes. Photos and videos have been massively spreading. They can all be seen on Chinese social media accounts like; Weibo, showing sacks of red onions at the doorstep while the guy was photographed in a clueless state. The delivery took a total of four hours, arriving on 20 May 2020, China’s unofficial Valentine’s Day.
In the delivery, it was reported that Ms. Zhao included a message as follows: “I’ve cried for three days, now it’s your turn.”
While the ex-boyfriend did not shed a tear in their breakup. But his neighbors had almost shared the woman’s sentiments, as the smell of the onions enveloped the whole compound. Red onions are known for their strong, sharp smell which seems impossible to remove.
