Some European countries like France, Germany, and Bulgaria are against the usage of fracking. In fact, they banned it in their countries. But what it is all about?
Hydraulic fracturing or Fracking is the method of drilling down into the earth using a high-pressure water mixture at the rock to discharge the gas inside.
However, some environmentalist believes that it is bad for our planet.
Fracking uses enormous amounts of water that must be transported to the site that will have an environmental cost.
More importantly, they also said that some carcinogenic chemicals may escape during drilling and pollute groundwater around the site.
That’s why those Europeans countries are banning fracking in their country. Just recently, Ireland will also begin to ban the controversial drilling method.
The main reason why the Senate passed this law because it would cause substantial dangers to the air, water, health, and safety of the people in their country.
They treated this method as serious public health and environmental fear for the citizens.
One of the environmental groups, Friends of the Earth Ireland, applauded the passage of this law.
This is indeed worthy to be celebrated by the people of Ireland. We hope that other leaders of the world will also pass laws to help save our planet from climate change.
