Do Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin really to step down as Alphabet Executives?
Now, Page and Brin are stepping down as CEO and president, of Alphabet. The company announced this on Tuesday. Sundar Pichai is the current CEO of Google and also a longtime executive. He will take over as the CEO of Alphabet.

Further, the co-founders will continue to serve the Alphabet’s board of directors. They will also maintain voting control of the business. They guarantee to influence the company without the title as executives.
Written in a letter they wrote,
We’ve never been ones to hold on to management roles when we think there’s a better way to run the company. And Alphabet and Google no longer need two CEOs and a President.
Moreover, Google is confronting the tensions with its employees. Firing some of its employees for allegedly violating its data security policies.
Under Pichai’s leadership, Google’s business continues to grow more into hardware and cloud computing, but its majority revenue still comes from advertising.
Brin and Page said they will remain “actively involved” as board members, shareholders, and co-founders. They also said they plan to continue speaking with Pichai “regularly.”
