A goat was arrested and is facing 7 years in jail in India after grazing on a neighbor’s lawn.
The neighbor, who is also a judge, accused the animal for “repeatedly damaging” his garden. The goat ate all his flowers and plants, the report says.
Police brought the female black goat called “Babli ” and its owner Abdul Hassan in Chhtatisgrah, India into custody after their neighbor filed a complaint.
Later on, Judge Hemant Ratre said he got angry after the goat trespassed into his lawn. He said Babli often goes to the area and devours all his plants.
Mr. Hassan faces charges of damaging and destroying others property and trespass. He will have to spend two years behind bars if proven guilty.
Meanwhile, the authorities said that prior to the complaint, the judge already talked to the owner about the recurring incident.
“We received a written complaint from the judge’s office on the basis of which we have registered a case. Investigation is on and the goat has been arrested,” the police said in a report.
The owner admitted the crime and promised his neighbor it will not happen again.
“My goat is now in the police station. It ate up the flowers and vegetables on the lawn of the judge,” he said.
