A Hawaiian flight “time travel” as it took off its flight in 2018 then landed in 2017, a result of time zone differences around the globe.

Hawaiian Airlines flight HA446, took off from Auckland, New Zealand at 11:55 P.M. on New Year’s Eve. Later on, the airplane landed in Honolulu, Hawaii at 9:45 on the same day.

The two countries have a 23-hour time difference.

However, US journalist Sam Sweeney on his tweet observed a delay in the plane’s departure for five minutes past midnight on New Year’s day, ready to land at 10:16 A.M. on December 31.

Another Auckland flight Air New Zealand’s NZ40 going to Papeete in French Polynesia took off at 10:25 A.M. on January 1. It arrived in the other at 4:25 P.M. on December 31.

Meanwhile, Flightradar24 tweeted that there were six aircrafts departed Taipei in 2018 are bound to land in the US and Canada in 2017. The post earned 4,500 likes and 3,700 shares.

Many respondents commented with memes referring to the 1985 science fiction film “Back to the Future.”

The said flights from Taipei were Eva Air to Vancouver, Seattle and Los Angeles, and China Airlines to San Francisco. All six landed safely in 2017.
