The final trailer for Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker has been released earlier today. The trailer debuted during ESPN’s Monday Night Football game between the Patriots and the Jets, report say.
According to reports, the story of Skywalker picks up roughly a year after the events of The Last Jedi. Notably, The Last Jedi ended with the Resistance Forces getting depleted after a massive barrage by The First Order. The new trailer supports this theory as footage shows a massive Resistance Fleet and Army facing The First Order. Incidentally, the trailer mirrors the Battle of Endor as featured in the Return of the Jedi.

Final trailer also brought in a new poster
On the same day that the trailer got released, Star Wars also released a new poster for the upcoming film. The new poster features characters from the sequels.
Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker serves as the final film of the saga that would feature the old and new cast. The movie stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Adam Driver. Likewise, original cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Billy Dee Williams reprise their old roles. Accordingly, the film features unused footages of Carrie Fisher from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Notably, Fisher passed away in 2017 just days after the release of The Last Jedi.
In an interview with Director JJ Abrams, he mentioned that the new movie “is the end of the trilogy and it needs to satisfy. We went into this thing knowing it has to be an ending. We’re not screwing around.”.
Hopefully, this movie really closes our the Skywalker saga that has run for 42 years properly.
