You can be sober and can make a difference at the same time. Just like this man who called an Uber to send an injured to be an animal sanctuary.
Tim Crowley was “day drinking” with his friends on a weekend afternoon when he saw a bird falling from the sky.
He took a photo of the incident and sent it to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Northern Utah. The sanctuary asked Mr. Crowley to bring it to them.
However, the man was already “too drunk” to drive. So instead, he requested for an Uber to escort the casualty to the said place.
He said it took him two attempts to order a bird a ride to the sanctuary. The first Uber driver refused to take the bird, but the next driver agreed.
The Wildlife Center on its Facebook commended the kindness of Mr. Crowley for helping the little creature and assuring its safety until it reached the sanctuary.
The bird is now named “Petey Uber” and now joining the other 250 birds living in the center.
Buz Marthaler, chairperson of the sanctuary, said the bird was actually a two-week-old Lesser Goldfinch.
The sanctuary added the bird would have died had it not been immediately turned in by Mr. Crowley and his friends.
