A wedding guest said the bride charged guests attending amounting to $50 in hope of recouping a part of her expenses for her wedding day.
In a story posted on Reddit, the 19-year-old cousin shared the story of the 26-year-old bride asking for former’s payment during her attendance in the wedding.
The bride said her cousin will be added to an “exclusive guest list” in return, which means “no waiting in line to enter the wedding while other guests pay.”
The bride told her to pay send her $50 through the Venmo app, which appalled the invitee.
“I am a 19-year-old student, I don’t have a lot of debt, but I cannot be throwing my money around like I am rich,” Reddit user DaintySheep wrote.
After which, the cousin immediately decided to forego the expensive wedding.
However, the bride called her aunt and said her cousin did not send her payment for the wedding. The aunt told the bride’s cousin “cheap and rude.”
“My parents offered to pay for my entry, but I refused,” she added on her post.
Online commentators supported the decision of the users, saying the pay is huge. Commentators said the bride should have not arranged a huge wedding and stayed on her budget.
