Emojis have become part of our everyday lives and created a new and entertaining way to communicate visually so why not celebrate them? July 17 is the World Emoji Day and Apple celebrates it by releasing new emojis.
People have been using emojis since the day that it becomes available in smartphones.
We are using it to express our feelings through the messaging app. That’s why whenever we see emojis, we can also feel the emotion of the sender.
On Facebook Messenger alone, almost more than 900 million emojis are being sent every day without any text. While 700 million are used on Facebook posts every day.
It just proves that emoji become a part of our digital world. That’s why we need to celebrate it.
Apple’s New Emojis
In celebration of the World Emoji Day, Apple has revealed 59 new emoji designs. These will be available with the iOS 13, iPad OS, and watch OS 6 updates.
It will include the new smiley face for yawning and a one-piece swimsuit together with new food items like a waffle, a falafel and butter, and garlic.
There are new animals as well that Apple will be presenting including the sloth, flamingo, orangutan and the skunk.
There will also be a major update to the holding hands emoji to represent couples and relationships.
Users will now be able to select any combination of skin tones and gender. This is to personalize the emoji and opening more than 75 possible combinations.
Apple will also follow the proposal of the Unicode Committee, which is to introduce more disability themed emojis.
That’s why they will include a new guide dog, an ear with a hearing aid, a wheelchair, and an emoji with a prosthetic arm and leg.
