NASA found a Water World Outside our Solar System

The astronomers in NASA found a water world planet with water vapor to its atmosphere. That it makes it possible to be habitable. Moreover, the temperature of the planet is just right for life to be formed in that world.

NASA named the planet as Exoplanet K2-18b and they are calling as “Super-Earth” because it was twice the size of our planet. It also has eight times the mass of Earth and there are some skies in its atmosphere.

This water world was discovered by the astronomers of NASA through Hubble Space Telescope in 2016 and 2017. After capturing the planet, they’ve analyzed the data and the exoplanet is the result of it.

Water vapor is usually found in the atmospheres of the planets that NASA discovered.

But this is the first time to discover this much water from a planet residing in the habitable zone (temperature is not too cold or too hot) of the universe.

However, the astronomers said that they need more data to confirm if this Exoplanet K2-18b is indeed a water world. They needed to determine if this planet has bodies of water like our oceans here on Earth.

Therefore, they are hoping that the new space telescope of NASA, James Webb, will help them gather the needed information to confirm their theory and assumptions of this water world.
