Robert Burns once called the toothache “hell o a’ diseases” and memorably described the horrors it causes the person to experience. The toothache, he wrote, tore his “nerves wi bitter pang,/ Like racking engines” and made him a raving mad. Burns’s description of the toothache is movingly precise: it is one of the strongest pains in our body. Yet we should not suffer like his poem’s narrator. There are natural ways of easing the toothache, which are listed below.
One of the best medicines for the toothache is garlic. Its antibacterial properties prevent the appearance of bacteria on your gums; Allicin contained in garlic helps alleviate the pain. In order to prepare medicine from it, take two fresh cloves of garlic and mix them with one tea spoon of salt to the consistency of paste. Apply this paste to the tooth that pains.
Turmeric also helps ease the toothache, because it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It contains curcumin, a natural pain killer. Dilute one teaspoon of turmeric powder with clean water until it becomes as thick as gruel. Apply the paste on the place where it hurts you or on the whole area of your oral cavity.
Few people know the plant called Asafoetida, though it has good pain killing properties. Mix the powder of Asafoetida with lime juice and apply to the ill tooth.
Guava leaves allay pain well. Boil guava leaves in water then rinse your teeth with it, when it cools down. Your toothache will go away.
Rinse your tooth with this juice. It will both assuage the toothache and will prevent your gums from future infections.
One of the best pain killers helping ease the toothache significantly is cloves oil. It will be more beneficial, if you make your clove oil yourself. Take one tea spoon of cloves and add it to a table spoon of oil. Mix the cloves and oil together until you get thick paste. Apply this paste to your teeth.
7.Oregano, Colloidal Silver, And Warm Water
What is also helpful for alleviating the toothache is a mixture of oregano, colloidal silver, and warm salt water. Take oregano oil and put a couple of its drops under your tongue. Then once in an hour, apply colloidal silver, carefully passaging it around the ill tooth. Wait for a couple of minutes and massage oregano oil there, too. In between your applications of colloidal silver, rinse your mouth with warm water; and then apply the oil again.
